as long as there are no immortal companions

: I think it's an interesting contrast between Brohammer and *literally every
: other secondary character in Halo.* Johnson, Captain Keyes, Commander
: Keyes, they would all have told the Chief "You go take care of those
: guns, I'm going to investigate those Condors."

yes

: Brohammer pleads with the Chief to come back so they can do it together.

: I think the whining is unbecoming of a UNSC Marine. I mean, I get that he has
: a wife and children. I get that he wants to be anywhere but here, and this
: fusion-powered tin soldier he pulled out of a debris field is the only
: thing standing between him and an army of aliens who cook Humans for field
: rations.

: That can be an interesting character archetype, the soldier who is in over
: his head and can't cover it with Johnson's panache. In this case, because
: the script lacks all subtlety, he just sounds hysterical.

we had that in 343 Guilty Spark. You can take his pistol if you need the ammo.

You know, I like it when a game doesn't have character development. Films and books are better for that. And I don't want the idea that the Chief brings hope to the ordinary joes retold like it's a revelation. We saw that in the original game. And it was explained to us, infinitely, better: here.

: It was more bearable the second time I watched the trailer, but I hope that I
: don't have to put up with this all through the game, and I hope he's not
: the only secondary character on Chief's journey.

Is he going to be the guy in the chair? Like Oracle or Felicity Smoak?

The Chief used to consort with heroes, giants! Now look who he's hanging round with.
