: It really is a significant improvement. A lot of the textures don't really
: hold up at 4K, but it still looks really nice. Very crisp, and rock solid
: 60 FPS. I think the sacrifices they made to hit 60 FPS on a base Xbox One
: were worth the cost, and it was an admirable effort. I recall being pretty
: impressed by the way Halo 5 looked at launch, and definitely appreciated
: the framerate.

: I hope they really optimize for the One X (without neglecting the base Xbox
: One) for Halo 6. I can't imagine it's going to be an easy line to walk,
: given those sacrifices they had to make for Halo 5.

Don't forget we're getting splitscreen, which was probably cut for performance reasons in the first place.

I think all the choices they made were the right ones (prioritizing frame rate and dynamically scaling resolution so it looks its best wherever possible), and I'm sure having more familiarity with the machine will allow them to get a better-looking game with fewer compromises even on the same hardware, same as we went from Halo 3->Reach->Halo 4.
