The wonderful series
Halt and Catch Fire, which recently ended, created a real-life counterpart to a website created in the show,
Comet. Since the show was a kinda-sorta period drama about the tech industry, Comet is a sort of artificial Internet time capsule leading to quite a few real Internet time capsules, including the subject of this post:
The Simpsons Archive. This site has been around since 1994, which is presumably the reason it looks so scrunched, and it has even less in the way of pictures than HBO (but mostly for legal reasons).
If you're interested in The Simpsons (still) and you appreciate HBO's simplicity and thoroughness, I'd recommend The Simpsons Archive. If you're interested in looking at websites from the 1994-97 time period, you should check out Comet's links. If you're interested in Halt and Catch Fire (I'd really recommend it), you can find it on Amazon, Hulu, Xbox, iTunes, Google Play, and of course AMC's website.
