Halo veteran BL4CKOUT is the definition of an enigma. He seems to have an air of mystery around him, and his videos are clear indicators of that. He usually likes to edit his videos to Trap Music, which is essentially hardcore rap/hip hop, and has mostly emulated his videos with TV static and flashes, giving it an old VHS appearance. His most recent montage garnered more attention than any of his previous works, dividing the Halo community like never before. Some consider it the best work in his entire career. Others claim it to be tired and indistinguishable from his other videos; basically the same thing over and over. Either way, this video is certainly a different, perhaps even refreshing, experience from the norm. Which brings to mind my original question: Can you create something that caters to your passion or liking and still find favor with popular opinion? And vice versa; Can you stay in the mainstream limelight without sacrificing your individuality? Which one is more important and can they both coexist?
