Some legitimate points in here to be sure, and many of us have made the comparisons to Halo and Star Wars.

Article does a decent job of showing both sides, (Making money vs over saturation and alienation) and I'm a realist about this stuff.

I still love Halo.

I don't play Halo nearly as much as I used to.

I see cool Halo things I want to buy!

I see dumb things I wish you couldn't buy.

I've said multiple times that if we examine the two core trilogies,

Halo 1-3 = the original Star Wars (e4, 5, 6) <- the best of the series
Halo 4-6 = the prequels (e1, 2, 3) <- the room for improvement series

So yeah, Halo is going to need fuel to keep going, and a game every year isn't going to do that. A steady stream of new content, metered out is definitely helpful, and something that I think 343 has done very well with Halo 5.

I'll use Loot Crate as an example- I saw the Halo edition one, and I gave it a big "meh" and didn't sign up. No idea what was in it. Then at PAX, paddy bought one and I'll be damned, it had things in it that I liked.

So I signed up.

My Halo fandom has evolved from the Games, to the Lore to Armor building. I don't know where it will go next, but I do know that for me, it will keep going.
