Whereabouts Update

Hey guys and gals.
Been a while, so I figured I'll let those that care know where I've been.
I've been busy. I'm basically working 3 jobs now. four days of the week, I babysit all day, for a close friend. It's pretty easy work. meaning it's nothing new to me. But it's fairly labor demanding as I'm entertaining, cleaning, and picking up after kids all day. But they're sweethearts so I love it. Even if my back, knees, and head doesn't. ;)

The second job is more mental demanding. As I'm sitting at a desk between 9am and 10pm working on a computer. I'm helping another close friend get his school photography business off the ground. He's been in the business for 28 years, but only as a photographer and salesman angle. As the founder, we've both are having to learn all of the "behind the curtain" requirements the hard way. There's LOT to learn and it's been crunch time for the last 5 months. And that's not even taking into account the photo retouching processes of 500+ students per school! It's been a mix of fun, frustration, amazement, and pure tedious work. Most of the time, I have to take work home just to catch up for the day. Now imagine that bundled on top of babysitting.

The third job is simply trying to design shirts and products for my stores as well as make YouTube videos. is. Personal Stuff. Sadly, my cheap drawing tablet keeps loosing it's computer connection and making designing an absolute pain. And my screen recorder only wants to lag. So I've not produced any designs or art videos in a while.

I've also needed a break from Halo. Forge was always crashing and costing me LOTS of map progress. I had lost my patience with it. With the new file system, prefab system, and WIN10 app, I'm slowly getting back into Forging. I still have no interest in playing Multi-player at this time. Nor do I have current interest in joining game-nights. Game-night parties were getting too loud, bossy, fussy, and profanity filled for my taste. No offence, but I doubt that has changed, so I'll still not be taking part anytime soon. There's also the simple fact that I don't have the time to spend waiting in lobbies for other players to join.

As I stated before, I'm slowly getting back into Forging. By 'slowly', I mean veeeeeeery slowly. I use to try to knock out maps quickly for the following game-night session. Seeing as how I'm currently not taking part in them, I don't feel rushed nor stressed to build. So I'm taking this extra time to rebuild and somewhat reimagine one of my Halo Reach maps from the Last Forger Standing contest. It was a fun map then, but needed a little work. I rebuilt it in Halo4, but it ended up feeling off and uninspired. I rebuilt it in MCC, but the lack of sprint complicated a few things. As did some of the objects.

I've yet to rebuild it in Halo 5 so I'm doing it now. I'm using the last build's name influence the look of the map as well as part of it's layout. Speaking of the layout, I'm going to adjust it to better fit with Halo5's fast gameplay while also catered for those of us that enjoy the classic and slower gameplay style. As of right now, I only have one base, built. I've basically put a ton of details into the base and saved it as a prefab. This way I can dismantle and update it later. If you've played the previous incarnations of this map, then you may recognize the base's general layout. It's much simpler of a layout this time around. But the current build of the base is packed with simple details. mostly a lot of Ivy and wall scenery. If anyone wants to use the prefab, then you are welcome to it. I expect users to update it to their needs. The base currently sits at over 230 objects. And there are elements that can be removed that will not hurt the look. As I said, I basically went overboard on this particular build of the base prefab. The base is meant o sit in front of a rock wall. This is because the base is really just the front of a building.

Question:
Has anyone else noticed that the lighting on Tidal is different in Forge then in Custom games? When I rendered the lighting in Forge, everything was darker and nicer. But in Customs, it was brighter and basically hurts the look of this prefab.

If interested, then you can bookmark Base Prefab here It's the front of a Stone Grave Mausoleum:
