Cross-Platform Play Being Held Back by Sony? *OT*

So I've been reading a lot lately on 'Rocket League' developer Psynonix pushing for cross platform play between PC-Xbox-PS4, and the surprise it was when Microsoft said they not only would be cross-platform with PC, but open to cross-platform with PS4. Now it seems like CD Projekt has permission for cross-platform play between Xbox and PC, and like Psyonix, is waiting on Sony to give the go ahead for true cross-platform play.

So what do you guys think? Players have been pushing for it for a long time, and now with Microsoft saying 'go ahead', it seems developers are beginning to be outspoken on true cross-platform play. I think I saw Blizzard was even up for it for Overwatch! Do you think we'll see it sometime soon (this yea maybe)? Will Destiny 3 be XboxTwo-PS5(-PC?) cross-platform, or it will it just be small 'party games' and not your major FPS, racing or strategy games?
