Well, not quite. If you've ever heard of them, you'll know that Advanced Technology International is "The Worldwide Leader in Firearm Stocks, Forends, and Accessories." They don't make guns, they make pretty things that your firearm wears when you take it out to the range.

So ATI isn't actually selling a shotgun patterned off of the M90 blunderbuss of Halo 2, they're selling a barrel shroud you can install onto a shotgun to make it look like the M90.

Or maybe not.

For those of you who aren't well versed in firearms lingo, the barrel shroud is the perforated heat shield that stops the user from cooking their fingers on a hot barrel, not to be confused with the shoulder thing that goes up. It's hard to say why the UNSC installed a barrel shroud over the M90's tube magazine, but I'm sure they had a reason.

Anyhow, the ATI Halo 2 Heat Shield may not look like the barrel tube magazine shroud on the M90, but if you squint... nah. Still doesn't look similar. Especially since the ATI product comes with non-glowing iron sights.

Is anyone as confused as I am? Is this copyright infringement? Is this product placement? Is this the weirdest form of licensed Halo merchandise to ever get canceled and yet see the light of day? Does it have anything to do with a side saddle the same company made under the Halo name?, and this is all one big coincidence?
