Is the Wasp just a reskinned Phaeton that can't dodge?

I'm all for reskinning vehicles and such, but you'd think they could add a human vehicle that fit a different role than others. The Falcon was great because it was an aerial troop transport. The Hornet was a middle ground between troop transport and a hovering Banshee.

Surely 343 could give us something different. Heck, imagine how well Falcons would fit with the ground-pound ability; Droppin' bombs for real.
