...is by far my favorite Halo comic ever, and it's probably tied with Fall of Reach for favorite EU entry (do the Halo 3 terminals count as EU? I count them as a part of Halo 3). :)
It came at a time when there was essentially zero coverage of Halo's civilian life and when Mombasa was a barren, empty city, with only cars and Swahili announcements as evidence that people once lived there (much like HGN says in the introduction to Second Sunrise). It gave us our first slice of non-military humanity, not to mention enriching the Ark/Portal mystery!
It also has a point! There's inspiration in it and it comes with a powerful ending. I can pick it up right now, rusty on my Halo lore, and still be moved by it (much like Pariah). I'm STILL impressed and happy that they were able to get the late Moebius, one of the most original artists of our lifetime, to do it. He provided a story through his lens with an art style that was wholly his own. The Covenant felt stranger, more alien - and that's so perfect for the theme and perspective of this civilian story.
