: When 343i contracted a team to make a set of Mark V armor for the
: graphically impressive Halo 5, they should have waited until the asset
: was created correctly , instead of accepting and implementing the
: completely unsatisfactory asset that they did.

Pretty much.
I like the Mk 4 that they put in this game, it's pretty good.
But the Mk 5 in this one looks like some kind of Optimus Prime mashup.
Part of me wonders if they did it like that on purpose, to make people not like it and distance themselves from Bungie's iconic initial design. But the other part of me doesn't think that because of the good jobs they did with the Halo 4 and HCE Anniversary editions they did.
FWIW, I hated Bungie's Reach version of the Mk 5, so it's not as if they did all perfect.
The Halo 5 one is over simplified.
