Still though, I'm not going to miss McFarlane's figures. While their sculpted detail is impressive, the articulation has gotten worse with every series. I picked up the Kelly figure a few weeks back to do a re-paint on it, and the legs don't move. I mean, the hips are articulated, but they can barely move more than a couple degrees in any direction.
I'm cautiously hopeful about the Mattel figures. From what little I've seen, it looks like the hips and knees both use double-jointing, which should seriously improve the leg articulation. I hope that the shoulders and elbows are similar.
They definitely look more like toys than the McFarlane figures, but I don't mind that as long as they're well-articulated (I tend to prioritize the "action" part of "action figure"). If the articulation is as good as I hope it is, I'll have to buy a couple just for the articulated bodysuit component. I love doing custom jobs.
