Maybe? I think there's always been this tension with Halo because even at its "darkest" it's still shooting at robots and aliens with colorful space guns; most previous Halo games really should have been rated "T" to me. But throwing in humans to specifically fight and it starts feeling like a different game, and I think they might be wary of alienating their audience somewhat—after all Bungie heavily *punished* you for killing humans and reach and despite bringing up the Insurrectionists or humans during the Arby levels, totally punted on making them foes.

If we do fight humans or humanlike foes, I imagine it'll be a minor part of the overall sandbox. It does leave a lot besides just augmented troops open, though—imagine AI-run war machines more akin to the Prometheans based on Spartans.
