Not just in Bungie's Halo but 343i's own Halo 4 and "Human Weakness" as well.
I agree about the Didact too - I've never been a fan of how he was handled in the game from his design to his Bond villain writing, but at least he had buildup and an understandable backstory for why he behaves the way he does (admittedly the latter came in half a year late, but still). I'd never have thought I'd long for the days when the Didact was the big bad, but when this was the alternative, well...
: Of course, the screams of "Help me! Help me!" are lame, but that's
: just 343i. If they originally made Halo:CE, 343 Guilty Spark would have
: been introduced in the second level as "The Guilty Spark Eternal,
: Keeper of the Sacred Halo and ALL Her Secrets!"
"We must go on a quest to find the three Eternity Stones before we can light the purifying flame of this Sacred Halo!"
Really, though, when was it that Forerunner AIs started talking like the Covenant? *Recalls the juxtaposition between Penitent Tangent's technical jargon and Regret's religious rhetoric for the same thing*
