In fairness, the section you're quoting was written in 2006. As an admin of the current Halopedia, we split from them a while ago, and while I can't speak for anyone else, I've found the lower traffic has been a quality control blessing. I remember solid days spent rolling back vandalism and poor edits in the leadup to and aftermath of I think Reach (or at least it feels that way now) but these days, we maintain a smaller, less casual community of contributors that mean higher-quality edits on average and far less vandalism and better response time to it.
