Plaza is by far my favorite H5 map right now.
Otherwise this sounds about right to me. A lot of the maps feel like they would be correctly sized if the gameplay were more in line with older Halo games, with a few skill jumps and close quarters areas punctuated by longer sight lines. With all the mobility options the maps feel tiny and all of the areas with larger sight lines become spaces you sprint to then engage people at range. Truth specifically suffers from this greatly, and Regret is also an example how I think the small arena maps are just too small as it stands.
The breakout maps actually feel to me to be the best balanced in regard to sight lines and mobility, and the ones that I've played on definitely hold up more as corridor maps than box arenas. I would be interested in seeing recreations of Destiny maps in Halo 5, tweaked for clamber and lack of the higher jumps. I think that Pantheon and Burning Shring would be awesome in Halo 5. And that maps like Truth need to be about 50% bigger, with some more cover from some of the obtuse sight lines.
But as it stands, the Magnum is almost required if you can't grab a more powerful precision weapon off the map due to the map design and mobility requiring you to engage in those open areas.

Yeah, you have a bright indicator when they are on your level and a dark indicator when they are not. I miss Reach's triangles, but it does require a little more consciousness about the map layouts to get the most out of it in 5.
