I liked them overall, but they were a little dry. We didn't get to know them at all. Personality =/= one-liner quips either, it can be subtle. Like maybe Fred tends to talk about certain things more often than the others, which indicates an interest in them, or maybe each Spartan has their own general demeanor, expressed through the way they read their lines.

343 could have given the Spartans more personality with the exact same script through vocal inflection and body language.
