I enjoyed Hunt the Truth because it's like sitting around listening to someone's own invigorating story. I didn't need something projected on screen to put an image on my head because thoughtful dialogue and superb audio filled in the blanks. Better yet, I felt like I was always on the edge of my seat. I hung onto each and every word Benjamin Giraud and later Maya Sankar gave us. The second season finale is a testament to that. The style of narration itself is an element of the storyline. For Giraud, his entries were like what we got; simple audio files. With Maya you constantly wondered how all this truly classified information got out. If the Guardians were such a threat then who would even be listening? Hearing Maya narrate her inevitable death you figured she'd get away. What we got was Maya detailing each and every centimeter she fell into her death. To end this season the way it did was completely unexpected and absolutely enthralling.
tl;dr, the premise and narration easily make HTT arguably the best in the series to date.
