Bearing in mind how readily a plasma goes through the nose of the incoming Banshee, I'm wondering if anyone ever reported seeing the pilot bail out. Because if they did, anyone who read that could've been just a step away from realizing the potential, if they knew about snatching at all.

Long ago I used to dally at the rendezvous myself, to give those Banshees some attention. But mostly with a rocket launcher I think. And once I'd noticed that they seemed to be indestructible until the end of their scripted paths, I probably didn't bother doing anything to them until then - at which point the bailing behaviour is apparently lost.
