Re: The Domain as a Method of "Time Travel"

: I'm rewatching Atlantis right now, and it is SO GOOD. How could they cancel
: this?
: I never watched Stargate Universe. What I heard of it was that it was trying
: a bit too hard to be Battlestar Galactica, a "gritty" sci-fi
: dealing with "relevant issues." On the other hand, there are
: worse shows you could imitate than BSG. Would you recommend it?

Honestly, no. The criticisms of it were very real. However, it was starting to find its feet when it got canned. The characters in season one weren't very likable, but they started to develop in season 2, and they were starting to get a good dynamic.

However, as it stands, it's not really worth trying to invest in it knowing there's no pay off. It did have a BSG vibe initially, but it wasn't anywhere near as good. They turned around and it looked like they were really going to lean into the SG-1 "planet of the week" formula a bit more, which was working to make the show better, but it wasn't enough to keep it alive I guess.
