I've moved on with my disliking of their redesigns. I can accept most of the changes at this point, but I really need more vivid targets. I like really colorful games, which is why I liked Halo CE in the first place. It wasn't another brown/grey shooter, it was colorful and saturated and bright.

Halo Reach muting colors was kinda the start of the blandness, so I could blame both companies for that.

Here is a (very)quick edit to show more saturated enemy armor:
