At some point I don't think that's possible (the never earning stuff). The Gold Packs are guaranteed to have unique drops, so by pure brute force (or brute application of money, if you were so inclined) you'll ultimately get everything.

Thus far the credit payouts seem fair for normal playthrough, I don't feel like I'm being forced and prodded to pay actual money.

The REQ system inside the game still feels a little confusing to me, and I keep forgetting to upgrade my starting weapons with my AR upgrades and the like, but I dunno if that's just a function of only having played a half-dozen games thus far.
