Spartan movement feels amazing, and the new movement abilities change the game just enough to make things interesting, but they all fit in very well with the Halo style of play. Clamber is the only thing I'm not sure about. Not that it's bad, but I'm not sure it adds anything to the game. It seems like they could have just made all the jumps requiring Clamber to be possible without Clamber and it would have had the same effect. I don't hate it by any means, but it's very meh. Hovering while aiming down sights, however, is amazing. There's a really nice risk v reward dynamic. You're basically just begging to be shot out of the air when you do it, but it's so satisfying to see a nearly dead enemy back down over a crest only to jump up and hover and finish him off. Evade is similarly amazing. It's not an instant escape button, but can effectively get you out of certain situations. Shields not recharging while Sprinting is another nice little touch. I'm still not quite used to it (it's screwed me over a few times!), but I really like the mechanic.
The weapon balance feels very good to me. The pistol is a great starting weapon (it's actually a freaking powerhouse), but a BR or DMR can beat it at range. The Magnum is good enough to give you a realistic chance, though. I'm liking the power weapon callouts from the announcer in Team Slayer, and the location callouts. They're handy when you don't have a very talkative team (which is often).
Warzone is the only thing I'm not sure about, yet. I've only played 3 or 4 matches in Warzone, but it hasn't lived up to the hype for me. Granted, I didn't pay attention much after the initial announcement of it, but I was picturing something much, much more chaotic than the mode actually delivers. AI spawns aren't that frequent, and from what I've seen, they're really the only viable way to take your team to Victory. You're never going to be able to keep up if you only go after enemy Spartans. It is fun in its own way, I was just imagining AI enemies everywhere, vehicles everywhere, Spartans killing each other all over . . . so far what I've seen is a few small skirmishes in different areas of the map.
Arena on the other hand, is great. I've only really played Team Slayer long enough to earn my rank (10 matches), so I can't comment on the other modes. I can't wait to get in the objective playlist and give it a go! I'm really loving the map design so far. Coliseum is a real standout favorite for me (Fathom is pretty great, too).
So I am loving Halo 5's multiplayer, and it seems like it's enough to pull me away from Destiny for the foreseeable future. That being said, I'm looking for folks to play with. I have quite a few of you in my friends list from Fireteam Builder events at DBO, but if any of you that aren't active Destiny players are looking for someone to roll into Arena with, add me to your friends list and I'll play anytime I'm around.
