I've sent you a Steam friend request. However, I've discovered one flaw in the plan: the Portal 2 digital item is only giftable (can't be traded) until 30 days after purchase - November 17. What's more, I can't gift it to anyone who already has it. So that leaves two options: you can either give me your friend's Steam name so I can gift it to them (do this via Steam chat for privacy) or wait until November when it becomes tradeable and you can pass it along.
