Here are my predictions for how Halo 5 will handle these modes.
I am curious to see how you all think 343 Industries will handle these features, so please feel free to add your own predictions as well. :)
Custom Games:
Similar to Halo 4, I think Custom Games are going to have most of the gametypes cut down to the "basics." We'll probably have Slayer, Breakout, CTF, Assault, Territories, and Infection/Flood. MCC gave us a lot more options for Custom Games, but Halo 4 removed a large portion. Hopefully they'll keep moving in the right direction and give us more options, instead of less.
Forge:
I think Forge is going to be very similar to the H2A version. I think we'll have a few new pieces, like the round ones on the maps from the Beta, and there was a theory floating around that objects can have a Primary and Secondary color. You want a block to have some red lines? Use Secondary. Want a big red block? Both. I expect Scripting to come back and hopefully the Map Gadgets.
Terrain could either return with a few new pieces or as something else entirely. I think Frankie said Forge was a "whole new thing" on par with Halo 3 > Reach. I would love to see a simple terrain editor similar to Far Cry. Someone also said something about Night/Day being a Forge option? That could be cool!
I really hope that someone textures the "Grass Plane" to match the "Terrain" pieces. It's so funky seeing a dark green flat spot with bright yellow hills poking out to make an area "flatter."
Theater:
Sadly, I think 343i is phasing out Theater Mode. We've seen Spectator Mode in Halo 5... which I, unfortunately, did not get to use at the time. It seems to function very similar to Theater, so I'm sure we'll have that at the very least. I would like to see a Theater mode that lets us explore the campaign again. I really liked flying around levels and seeing the close-up details on enemy models, watching their animations and "idle" actions.
Film Clips and Screenshots seem redundant, since the Xbox One has those features built-in.
I would be happy with a simple flying camera mode that could pause, rewind, and fast-forward.
