I dunno, that seems too.... user-friendly for a Covenant device. I guess I'd feel that since they were one of the more clearly reverse-engineered pieces of tech they had, the Luminaries just showed what they showed. Contact Harvest didn't go into too much detail though (and neither did Broken Circle, really.)
