Re: The Warden (Eternal)

In Response To: The Warden (Eternal) (DHalo)

: So, at E3 we got a glimpse of a new character, The Warden Eternal, Keeper of
: the Domain and All Her Secrets...*cough*

: Anyway. So, as I reread Cryptum the other day I saw a character named the
: Warden appear. I had initially believed it to be the same character as the
: one from E3 but according to Halopedia they are considered, for the
: moment, separate characters. I believe, however, that they may be the
: same. What leads me to believe as such is that the Warden is a
: metarch-class AI, as is Mendicant Bias (though he is much more powerful
: than the other metarch-level ancillas) The voice of Medicant Bias has been
: described (and heard during Iris) as devoid of gender. Something that I
: noticed during E3 was that the Warden Eternal seemed to also lack this
: gender distinction in its voice. Therefore it is possible that
: metarch-class AIs share this gender neutrality.

Don't take Halopedia's word as gospel. We basically invented the United Rebel Front from misinterpreting something in Ghosts of Onyx, and I'm fairly sure I'm responsible for the UEG, based on what may have simply been a misspelled UNSC from the Halo PC manual. Both examples were assumed to be canon, then canonised by official media, which were using us as a source, in the case of the URF AFTER we'd realised our mistake. We do make errors, misinterpret things, fail to pick up on cues, etc. We're not perfect.

We're also not strictly related to HBO, but if you started a forum discussion on the Halopedia site, you could discuss changing the state of the articles!

On a separate note, I wonder whether the gendering of the Domain has any relevance? Will we see it embodied somehow, to become a new, powerful figure in future media? Or is it like gendering a ship, just something you traditionally do?
