It would be great if they just release a whole new version of the game and give everyone a free download / disc version of it.

It would be a massive file, but I'd buy it.

Unfortunately, that won't happen. 343i will do their best to sweep the whole thing under the rug, and once Halo 5 comes out, they'll most likely never mention (or update) it again and just hope that we forget about it.

Well, fuck that. I'm not going to forget about it.
