: Customs? You mean that thing GV has been running religiously since Halo 4
: bombed and everyone left, and then you swoop back in like you've been
: doing it the whole time? - No idea.
That's not the sense I got from it, maybe because of the e-mails mentioned. In the past I was very defensive of Customs Night and the way I do things and the fact I continued it, so much so it may have hurt the project by driving people away, including Hyokin the first time he tried to rejoin. I've opened up some, and some things have changed. I'd rather not get into details, partly because I don't remember them. It's nice to see my effort recognized though.
: I'm sure you are just as condescending and backhanded there, too.
For the most part our communication been very civil, especially lately. I have the e-mails, all of them, going back over two years, and if they weren't private and didn't have other people's private information I'd let you look and judge for yourself. For the record, everyone with Community Customs, including Hyokin, knows that Hyokin was an ass in the past, and he is not one any more when speaking or acting in an official capacity (tweets, non-official HBO posts, etc. are the responsibility of the poster and do not necessarily reflect the views of Community Customs-- that goes for all of us). He apologized privately, and I accept that. If you have a personal problem with him, I suggest you e-mail him yourself.
: Sure thing, but as I said before, for someone who's been picked on as much as
: you have, I would expect you to know better. Then again, maybe not. Call
: something or someone "full 343" and a few of you lose your minds.
That's an exaggeration, but the reaction was also slightly exaggerated. The thing you're referring to was someone being ass like Hyokin used to be, and HBO has always been good about catching that when it happens.
: Tell someone that if they are "going to feed [gv], they can
: walk him too" as if he we're an animal and no one says a word.
: Except me.
I actually read it wrong until you pointed it out, I thought he was saying I could feed and walk scarab, and I didn't take it as an insult to anyone, just a playful, pointless little comment. If I'd realized it was directed at me I would've known it was a little playful jab like he likes to make-- some people relate that way, it's not my favorite kind of interaction but it doesn't really bother me. It wouldn't have hurt me even if I thought it was an insult, I've had much, much worse things directed at me.
(I can't help but wonder what it says about people, the different reactions-- and the same reactions by different people-- to being compared to an animal versus compared with a mentally disabled person. I wonder if people aren't so different, they just show similar things in different ways and under different circumstances, and if they just think and maybe have a bit of knowledge they'll find they know how someone else feels. That's probably a discussion for another place and time though.)
Thank you for trying to defend me.
Now can we please talk about Halo?
I for one don't trust Locke or pretty much any story elements that surround him-- not because of his character, but because of ONI.
