Evolution of Halo always captures my imagination due to the array of neat weapons that didn't end up in the final cut. Having both free time and modeling skill, I opened up Creo and started making some of them in Creo. Because I made them in about the same scale as the Reach figs, I then though "Wait... what if I print these on Shapeways?" So I did. And here are the results. I'll put a screenshot or two up before each one.

The weapons section starts at about 1:10.

Okay, first off is the the Covenant Sniper Rifle:

I'm pretty sure this evolved into the beam rifle we all know and love.

Next is the Drum Key:

Next is a really neat thing that I wish had stuck around, the Gravity Wrench:

This next one looks like it was possibly recycled into the Mauler, though I've heard it referred to as the Excavator:

I had some issues making this one, since I made the post for the ammo wheel too long and had to cut it off in order to get that thing on there.

I decided to also do the Gravity Rifle, which technically made it into Halo 1, though it isn't useable without some manual labor. Here it is:

While I was at it, I realized we've never gotten a toy version of the Sentinel Beam. So I did that to the best of my ability:

I'm also frustrated by the lack of Destiny toys of any kind so I made a Scout Rifle for my Halo figs, complete with removable mag:
