Halo 2 speedrun race for charity this Saturday
By:General Vagueness
Date: 1/4/15 3:14 am

AGDQ is back again!
You may remember it for featuring Halo occasionally in the past, or for running other well-known series like Zelda and Final Fantasy (though they have plenty of forgotten gems too and games that should probably just be forgotten), or, I don't know, maybe for raising a million dollars (over $1,000,000.00 USD) for cancer research last year, and it's starting about 9 hours from now. You have close to a week to wait/get ready if you want to see Halo though, it's being run as a race on January 10th.
As before, this is being done by Speed Demos Archive and Speedruns Live to get money for the Prevent Cancer Foundation-- 100% of donations are sent their way. Even a small fraction of what they brought in last year can fund a research grant that can produce a potential treatment, or can fund a trial of a treatment that can save lives or restore some normality and comfort to people with cancer and their loved ones.
Donating enough also enters you to win fabulous prizes like games, consoles, and artwork.
The action will be streamed live on the event's site, https://gamesdonequick.com, and also on Twitch, and you can donate from their site.
