Re: H2A CoOp De-Sync

In Response To: H2A CoOp De-Sync (JDQuackers)

: TL;DR - Has anyone had their co-op game get out of sync with the other
: player(s) ? Is this a new thing for MCC or did it ever happen in older
: games? I can't think of it ever happening on Co-Op nights. Anyway,
: story/more details below....

: Last night, I played H2A online coop with the same friend that I played the
: original game with back in the day side by side. It felt GOOD. Like really
: good (at least, once I switched my control scheme to Universal Reclaimer
: and stopped turning my flashlight on when I wanted to reload).

: So anyway, we played H2A on Legendary and blasted through Cairo station. It
: was awesome. Then we got to Outskirts and started out great. We got
: through the initial firefight with only two small hiccups of lag (where
: his position would jump a few meters but then he'd be right back on
: track).

: Suddenly, after we took down the hunters and entered sniper alley, I saw his
: character lag again... and then started running the opposite direction
: (back towards the level start). His voice in my ear was telling me about
: the jackal snipers that he was fighting. It didn't make sense.

: We quickly realized that we were no longer playing in the same game. He could
: see my Master Chief, and I his. But the other player was always
: "backwards"--movement and weapons equipped/firing/reload were
: preserved but the direciton of movement was always reversed. So the other
: character in each of our games was usually up against a wall. If one of us
: died, the other player's game would not reset to the checkpoint, but if we
: killed the "ghost" avatar in our own game, it would reset as
: expected. Our campaign score was also still linked. When HE died in his
: game, I'd continue playing but I'd see the -100 score pop up on my screen.
: So after 30 minutes or so of trying to "force" the game to
: resync us we decided to just soldier on and try to complete the level solo
: and see what would happen.

: Sure enough, about an hour or two later, I was able to finally exit the
: tunnel system and trigger the post game carnage report (was there supposed
: to be a cutscene? I don't remember). When that happened, his PGCR popped
: up on his screen, even though in the background his character was still
: there in the open getting repeatedly pummeled by jackal snipers (and then
: respawning in the same spot to be killed again).

: All-in-all we finished with an impressive -10,000+ score between us. The kill
: totals on our PGCRs were also way, way off and neither matched. It was
: just a totally bizarre and unreal experience. When the next level
: (Metropolis) started, we were back in sync and nothing was wrong..

: I wish there was a way to pull up Campaign stats on Waypoint, but I guess
: that's not a feature for MCC? Oh well...

: So has anyone else seen this yet or ever before?

breitzen and I played through the that section of the game last night. We didn't have the weirdness you describe. It did take us about a dozen tries to join each other initally, and then I got booted when we got to Outskirts. Luckily, I was able to quickly rejoin.
