H2A Soundtrack: 'Cryptic Whispers' Backwards Audio

In true Halo Soundtrack fashion, the new Halo 2: Anniversary Original Soundtrack has a track titled Cryptic Whispers (Disc 2, Track 3) that contains strange backwards audio.

Here's a reversed, sped-up, pitch-shifted, and EQ'd version of the relevant part to enhance the voice as best I can (I'm a total amateur with audio software, I'd love for someone to show me how to do it better…):

Anyone else think the voice sounds a lot like Joe Staten?
