Oh, is that what he was talking about? I thought it was about all types of maps. Doing that for montage makers would be dumb, not just because of that but because the ambient sounds were always quiet and if they're done right (and maybe even if they're not) it's not hard to separate out the gunfire and announcements, and a lot of montages don't even use the game's sound or use it sparingly.
