The Halo TV series, I think, mostly came about because some boneheads at Microsoft wanted to push the XBone as an all-in-one entertainment device. Basically, if Nightfall and that other show were past the concept stage, Microsoft would have revealed with those.

Now that they've backed off, I'm really scared for the Spielberg series. Not so much for Nightfall, though. That's probably too far along in production to be worth shutting down.
