I agree, I love the idea of the UNSC (or UEG if I am being politically correct) having to navigate the waters of a new "post-war" world where there are Sangheili "allies" and New Colonial Alliance enemies. I think that the expanded fiction of Halo has a lot to say about notions of empire and realpolitik that are yet untapped.

That being said, the UNSC just needs to stop parking the Infinity next to things that will destroy her. Someone needs to tell the Navy it doesn't have to be suicidal anymore, I don't think they got the memo.
