That's right. This upcoming Sunday, VTHU is returning. I've spent a bit of time the last couple days browsing pages on Halopedia, pulling topics, characters, and locations from the Halo universe that could use more fleshing out. Currently, there are a lot of multiplayer maps that will feature on the list, but as more subjects are added, it will balance out nicely.

So, for those who haven't heard, I’m looking to expand VTHU's slew of content from purely visual renditions, to stories that allow the authors to take you planetside, where you’ll be getting your boots in the mud, taking in the sights and smells of some of the other lesser-known areas of the Halo universe. I believe that this, complemented by a renewed focus on illustration submissions, will help to really round out all the ways that VTHU stands to enhance your perception of the Halo universe.

The last round that was hosted on VTHU was our Free Round, which completed the cycle of Human, Covenant, Ancients, Miscellaneous, and a Free Round. As these start over on a renewed schedule, we will now be alternating between images and written submissions. So the schedule will now look like this:

Week 1: Images – Human

Week 2: Writing – Human

Week 3: Images – Covenant

Week 4: Writing – Covenant

Week 5: Images – Ancients

Week 6: Writing – Ancients

Week 7: Images – Miscellaneous

Week 8: Writing - Miscellaneous

Week 9: Images – Free Round

Week 10: Writing – Non-Canon/Comedy Round

For now, I have one massive favor to ask of you: Keep submitting ideas! You can either post them here, or submit them using our form. As I said in my other post, writing allows for a much wider range of story topics, and I need as many as I can get. One person can only think of so many things, so the more ideas you submit, the more fun we can have in future rounds. You can submit a location that you’d like explored in writing, a character, or a scenario. Anything that suits your fancy! You can submit anything as vague as the subject “gambling” to anything as specific as “a game of Black Jack with three Grunts, a Jackal, and one plasma pistol”. The sky’s the limit (although any non-canon themes will go into the Comedy Round).

Thanks for your patience with my schedule. Things are finally settling a bit, so I hope to have VTHU back to a constant cadence once again, and I look forward to all the new submissions that the writing rounds will now encourage. And for you visual folks, I hope to see you all back at it again!
