: I remember my first game of Age of Empires. Jol asked me if I wanted a game
: and I asked him what it was. he said it's a game where you build stuff and
: advance your civilization through various ages.

: I said OK and we started a game. I had (four?) villagers and a town center.
: Jol explained how I could gather food and wood to make more villagers and
: plant fields. I thought it was cool.

: The artwork was really neat, the lumber camps and mines looked nice: I had a
: nice horsey that Jo; said I could use to scout stuff. So I made it circle
: around my village so I could see where the trees, stone and gold where. I
: then let it graze near my town center because it looked cute and horsey.

: Jol's scout paid me a visit now and then - it would canter past and it looked
: really pretty. His horsey looked nicer than mine so i asked Jol how he got
: such a nice horsey. He explained that you advance to better ages and that
: upgrades your horsey.

: Then one time jol's horse stopped next so some of my villagers AND THEN
: STARTED ATTACKING THEM. I was shocked and asked Jol to tell his horsey to
: stop attacking my villagers (some of them where women and hadn't done
: anything to deserve that). Jol pulled it away and I thought nothing more
: of it, except for asking him why it did that - Jol said that it was just
: an accident and that he had it on the wrong setting. Uuuhh... OK.

: Then, about half an hour later, these big slingshot things arrived and
: started destroying my buildings. They were really pretty and made a cool
: sound and had a neat animation. Then he had these cool heavy horses that
: killed my villagers with swords.

: I was pretty shocked. I asked Jol why he was doing this and he said it was
: the point of the game. I had been deceived.

: So, as I say, I can sympathize.

That story was outstandingly interesting!

I remember being 5-7 years old playing Mario not wanting to kill the goombas or turtles! They're just minding their own business Mario!!
