On the topic of pregnancy, it could be more akin to including the preparation for initial sex. Like, do you both take your clothes off one at a time, or simultaneously? Does the room have to be cleaned first? The bed (or whatever surface) cleaned or cleared? Any other personal preparation beforehand? etc. Some things you two could do at the same time to save time, even though the act of sex and process of pregnancy after that would be sequential. Heck you could hire a team of people to do all the cleanup and preparation beforehand, while you two take off your clothes or whatever. Then it's like, ok home, get naked, sex go! Then do you wait until the baby is born to clean up after yourselves? Or do you do that during the pregnancy, or right after the sex bit? Lots of stuff can happen in parallel while the sequential stuff rolls on.
