In Response To: Re: What's the point to piloting a Pelican? (General Vagueness)

: That was in reply to "there was nothing that it had to do that
: distinguished it from a Horent or Falcon", which I took to mean
: things the Pelican has to do and/or things you have to do with the
: Pelican, and I was saying what about what you don't have to do but still
: can do? There isn't a lot of that though. :/

Precisely my point.

: so... you don't want a Pelican in the game?

I don't rightly recall ever saying anything of the sort, mate.

: I wasn't going to and I'm not sure what you're getting at.

I figured you'd say something to the effect of "Well, the Falcon was pretty similar to the Hornet".

: That would make more sense with the Falcon though, it's got that big space in
: the middle.

Falcon has door gunners, Hornet has jumpseats for Marines. In Contact Harvest, Hornets actually had four jump seats... yeah, and one of those seats had a crew gun. My point still stands that the Hornet is closer to a Troop Hog (Where the offensive capability is all up to the guns in the hands of the passengers) than a typical Warthog.

: Who said they were made for going 500 KPH?

"This is Hotel 721. We are inbound with an ETA of twenty minutes. Ordinarily, it would be four minutes, but Ensign Patchetsky insisted on grabbing the dunce seat. As much as I'd love to see him get ripped out of his seat by the airstream, I've got an officer breathing down my neck. Besides, the Pelican doesn't have rearview mirrors."

: You won't accept weird seating but you'd accept an intact, working, flyable
: Pelican in that wreckage?

Everything else worked. = )
