Usually, I agree with Dani. Usually.
This time, I still agree with him, but it's painful to hear him deriding arguments for the poncho instead of addressing them.
-Why do Prawn weapons obliterate everything they're firing at?

Maxim 25: If the damage you do is covered by a manufacturer's warranty, you didn't do enough damage.
There's tons of possible reasons. Could be that they were fighting something tough enough that they needed that much power, and using them against humans was like shooting varmints with a .308. Could be that the Prawn's* mindset favors completely destroying enemies over wounding and incapacitating them.
*Read: alien, not human
-Disappointed that the Spartan Assault story was so thin.
-One of you (Not sure which) pointed out that the "UNSC blows up a Forerunner artefact that the Covenant found" plot is getting overused, and someone else's rebuttal was "Well, Star Trek did it with downed shuttles."
Was that supposed to be an excuse?
