What do we KNOW of Lekgolo + sources?

Probably one for Mr Loftus....

halo.wikia.com makes a lot of claims:

  • Covenant were intent on mining Te when they found the Lekgolo
  • Te is NOT a gas giant
  • Lekgolo evolved on Te

CH states that early copies of the Dreadnought's Luminaries led the San'Shyuum to a gas giant near the Sangheli's home and that they were disappointed to find the Lekgolo huddled on the planet's rings (which turned out to be fragments of an obliterated Forerunner installation that once orbited the planet).

The Covies weren't mining or prospecting for mineral wealth. The Lekgolo weren't on the planet.

But I have heard other things about orbital bombardment; is that from another book? BNet?

What are the various stories and where can I find sources for them?
