Free verse and sonnet are genres. The medium is poetry. We is humanity as a collective. I think the medium I work in is one of the best for what it does, which is why it interests me. I don't dismiss all mediums.

I don't know, maybe because books are better at telling certain kinds of stories than film? There are advantages to the novel not replicated or bettered anywhere else, which is why it is still around.
