Hah ^. :)
: Even with the tattoo, I never really recognized him as Jun. He feels foreign
: to the guy I stalked around Viery with and blew a kiss to weeks later in
: Reach. Maybe comics weren't the best method to reintroduce him back into
: this new Haloverse. Jun's voice didn't bounce off the page. I tried
: imagining his voice but it sounded like any other guy could've said the
: exact same thing.
I agree. I REALLY wish someone had secretly recorded my late night scripting sessions for AFoA. I sat and tried to do my best impression of each Spartan's voice while writing their dialogue, and I'd read each page in their voices 10 times before releasing them. Emile sounded like a football player, Jun became a coy Russian, Jorge a deep Russian, Carter a cowboy, and Kat some sort of Japanese Ninja.... In my mind they sounded perfect, hah.
: Shut your mouth! You're extremely talented, we all know you'll make it big
: someday, and not a single person on bungle.org wants anything but that. :)
Bah, I feel old now. After graduating college I thought, "Aaah, it will take me a few months to get a job in a game studio in Seattle. Just have to be patient." Three years later and I feel farther away than ever. Last year I thought it might actually happen. All the love I got for AFoA and all the 343i people I met at conventions and conversations I had - it really seemed like something was going somewhere.... and then it just petered out. People stopped responding to emails, etc. Projects were put on hold. And now I'm reading somebody else's Halo comic with Jun in it. When you're depressed, it's really hard not to be a bitter jackass. That's why I spend more time on DBO than HBO these days. 343i's Halo just has too many NDAs and personal feelings wrapped up in it to talk about modern Halo with a fair mind.
