1. I think that feeling that many people have about Halo would be very challenging to avoid even if 343 hit all the green lights with Halo 4. Since 2009, we've had a Halo game every year (counting Anniversary, and maybe to a lesser-extent, Spartan Assault), a load of DLC packs, six novels and a short-story collection, an anime anthology, a feature-length webseries, four comic series, three reference books, two art books, and a shit ton of figurines. There's an oversaturation of content, and I don't think all the fans are even able to keep up with it- I know I'm not able to. You'd think that as a fan I'd be happy with more stuff, but I'm not- sometimes less is more. And there's no signs of slowing- they've got a next-gen title in 2014, and a television series sometime in the future.

2. a.) Off the top of my head, I can't think of any new major fan communities that spawned from the Halo 4/343 era of games. I remember when I started getting into the Halo community during Halo 3's launch and being invested in a lot of different communities and groups- not so much anymore. b.) Maybe Halo Waypoint, or Twitter? I don't know. c.) I don't know if it's actually Halo 4 that's doing the damage, but I think a lack of confidence from the fans and interaction from the developers does create this environment where people are less likely to be passionate about Halo.

3. The negativity towards Halo 4/343 that is seen somewhat often here can be a deterrent for the developers. It's that whole attitude of "don't read the comments" where many creators feel like overwhelmingly negative criticism of their projects won't help them in any way. And often times, it seems like people attack the developers on a personal level rather than their product (not saying that is what's going on here however). I don't think that they should outright ignore what's being said on here though- there are some actual constructive criticisms of Halo 4 from which they could build upon.
