It's unbelievably easy to level up in the playlists where it takes individual skill. If you're good at the game, you'll be a 50 in no time. Other playlists require team wins to level up, and even then it's fairly inconsistent in how it wants to go about leveling up. 343 pretends it's a lot harder to level when you're going off of the team-win mechanic, but it's not. It's just grinding. If you want hard, I'd like to direct you to H2 and H3.

I honestly thought it was K/D ratio, but it has to be a consistent K/D ratio throughout all of your games. I think you don't get as far if your K/D stops being as high or whatever as you start getting those tougher opponents. I have nothing to back that up, though. I'm just going off of trends I noticed as I was playing, like where all of a sudden I wouldn't level up at all as my K/D leveled out a bit lower for a few matches, but as soon as I kicked it back into high gear and started smashing people, I started ranking again. And surprisingly I did feel like I was getting matched with way more skilled opponents as time went on, but the leveling system was a joke so it didn't pose much of a challenge in getting to my 50 or 45, etc.

I'd say stick with going for the highest K/D you can and make that consistent game after game to maximize your CSR, not that it matters. :P
