I really hope it's a placeholder. The concept behind it is a tad clichéd IMO, but what ruins it is the horribly cheap-looking execution. Like you said it looks like someone threw it together in Photoshop in a few minutes and called it a day.

The title is okay to me, not as bad as "The Thursday War" and not as good as any of the pre-343 novels. It's just that I have a feeling we're in for some more heavy-handed lecturing on why the Spartan II project was wrong and why Halsey is a terrible person.

As for the content, I won't be expecting much. Since this still ties into Halo 4, nothing actually important can happen anymore. Everything that matters has already been resolved in other tie-in media or, you know, Halo 4 itself. That leaves only KT's own characters, who I never really cared about in the first place, so I expect the book to matter as much as The Cole Protocol. At least I know I won't be in any kind of hurry reading this one.
