Unfortunately seems to be a recurrent thing in companies. Saints Row was initially stated to be a planned trilogy with a semi-solid story, but then they admitted they changed their minds and decided to turn Saints Row: The Third into a full blown living cartoon. As others have said, could be good, could be bad, and as long as the games are good and keep a good story, I'll be happy to follow.

From an economic POV, Microsoft really wants to sell the XBox One, so since Halo is their champion franchise, more titles from that franchise that are exclusive to that console could let them keep the console together. It would explain why the new Halo was announced so soon and coming earlier than usual (2014).
