I've only played through that part and seen that cutscene once, so I don't remember everything.
So, where was the Slipspace rift from? I was wondering if he fell in the path of the Composer and been composted. Er, composed. Somehow, the idea of a digitized Didact is frightening to me.

As for the guide: I like the sample pages very much. Some of the similar Halo information books have really disappointed me with inconsistent information and ugly recycled images. However, DK is such a great company; I have high hopes for this book.
