What's baffling to me is that I was the first person to say anything. I thought this was like, basic gamer pop culture knowledge. I know of these (and other Nintendo cartoons, Zelda comes to mind) but I never watched a single episode, and I've never played a single Nintendo game. Console gaming for me started with the Xbox, and didn't get hardcore until the 360. Prior to that it was PC gaming, and I was way behind on everything (this happens when you have an underpowered PC and dial up in a time when multiplayer is starting to push broadband).
